Welcoming a new puppy into your home can be very exciting. Here are a few things to keep in mind to help you puppy-proof your home so that you are ready to welcome your new puppy.

The first thing you will want to keep in mind is that puppies love to chew on everything. So make sure all medications are out of reach, not on low tables or countertops. Even if the medication is in bottles or pill dispensers, you will still want to put away the medications because puppies can still easily chew through these. Also, you will want to put away any small objects that could be a choking hazard. These choking hazards could be items such as coins, hair accessories, paper clips, and jewelry. Another thing to think about moving out of reach of your puppy is electrical cords or use cord concealers. Puppies will also chew on these, which could cause severe burns or electric shock. Keeping that in mind, you may also want to move any poisonous plants that the puppy could reach.

These few puppy-proofing ideas will help you to be ready to welcome your new puppy into your home and to help you to keep your puppy happy and safe.
